Flower Dance

“flowers. Dancing. moonlight”

The night thickens and I feel dance.
Outside there is a tingling movement,
a bursting triumph painting the air in tumbles.

Night jazz crawls up the flower’s stems,
I see dandelions dip and dive like dolphins
for the skittering drops of moonlight.

Petals floating; confetti upwards in joy.
They feast on unreasonable passion,
exhaling all sense with beauty
until the edge of dawn comes again.
